Political Parties Data

E Bond

In April 2018 BJP government introduced a new scheme about donation to political party, called Electricit Bond or E-Bond. In theory this bond is introduced to avoid donation in black money & to simplify the process of donation with very not restrictions and anormously. No wonder this bill smoothly pass by parliament without any obligation from any party.

In April 2019, ADR a non governmental organization with who is some senior advocate of supreme court file serious allegation about this scheme. They indicate the it's not a scheme for normal people to donate easily to their favourite political party but it's a legal organised way for big company & rich people to give donation anormously to any party special to the rulling government and get any contact, make new rules that benifits them.

Finally in February supreme court of India discontinue the e-bond scheme by declaring it unconstitutional. And directed SBI to give all datas of this bond to election commission of India with in 6th march.

SBI don't obey this order of supreme court and in 6th march file a partition for extended this time to 30th of June. In 11th march supreme court of India disqualify all SBI argument and request and order them to give these data to election commission within one day otherwise they will start a criminal procedure against SBI to not following the supreme court order. And told election commission to publish this data on their website before 5pm of 15th March.

Let's first understand how this E-Bond works

Let's say you like a specific political party and want to give them some donation. But how can you do it? 🤔.

  • Step 1: You have to go some specific branch of State Bank of India and asked them that you want to donate some money using E-Bond.E-Bonds are only available with us specific price like 1,000rs , 10,000rs , 1 lakh , 10lakh , 1 cr etc.You have to choose among this specific denomination price. You can't buy e-bond in 1,234rs or 23,45,233rs etc. Here is an example of E-Bond of 1krs denomination.
  • Step 2: Now you take this bond and give it to your favourite political party by visiting the party office physically.Let you give a 1 lakh rupees of e-bond to ABC party.
  • Step 3: Now ABC party has to reading it from SBI within 15 days.
What if they don't redeem it within 15 days?br> Then the money in this case rs 1 lakh will goes to PM fund.

In March 14 election commission published all the raw data about a bond on their site https://eci.gov.in
SBI give the whole data into different set. The first set is containing the name of buyer and the denomination then buy or simply the list of name of people who buy e-bond with amount. The second set is contain the name of the political party and the amount they withdrawal using e-bond.
Here is the list of the political party and the amount they get from e-bond in between the April 2019 to February 2024.

The total amount that all political party of India get from the bond is 12,769cr. This is a shocking data! Among all this donation 48% is just give to one single party name Bharatiya Janata Party, around 6,060cr. Shockingly despite of being a single state party All Indian Trinomul Congress get 12% of the total donation around 1600cr. Congress get 1400cr.

Here is the list of the companies and the individuals by a bond to donate money to their favourite political party.
